Customize your photo wall template

How to change the look of your live wall: event name, accent color, welcome message, sponsor logos, and template-specific overrides like cell count and transition timing.

The template you picked at event creation is just a starting point. Every visual aspect — colors, fonts, layout density, sponsor placement — can be tuned from the Wall settings page without touching code.

Where to find wall settings

From the event detail page, click Wall settings in the left nav. The page is split into four tabs: Branding, Layout, Sponsors, and Welcome message.

Changes save as you type. The live wall reflects them within about five seconds.

Branding tab

Three controls live here:

  • Event name — what guests see on the wall corner and the upload page.
  • Hashtag or tagline — an optional second line. Wedding couples use “#SmithWedding”; corporate events use the campaign tag.
  • Accent color — a hex value used for hearts, hover states, sponsor frames, and the QR code background.

Pick a color from the swatch picker or paste a hex. Light colors (anything brighter than #CCCCCC) get a guard rail that warns you the heart icon will be invisible against the white wall background — you can override it but most people change the color.

For deeper branding customization (custom logos, white-label, sponsor frames) see Branding & white-label.

Layout tab

The layout tab controls presentation mode (mosaic, slideshow, ambient, magazine) and mode-specific settings.

  • Mosaic — a grid of recent photos. Choose cell count (12 to 60) and grid density. Higher cell counts work on 4K screens; lower counts work on 1080p.
  • Slideshow — one photo at a time, fading between. Choose transition speed (3 to 30 seconds per photo) and whether to show the uploader’s name.
  • Ambient — a slow-moving Ken Burns-style pan. Choose pan duration and density. Best for cocktail hours and long backdrops.
  • Magazine — an editorial layout with a hero photo plus supporting tiles. Best for corporate events with a designated “moment of the day.”

Picking the right mode for the room is its own article — see Choose the right presentation mode.

Sponsors tab

Upload sponsor logos as PNG (transparent background) or SVG. For each logo you can set:

  • Tier — Premier, Gold, Silver. Premier logos appear larger and more often.
  • Rotation — Anchored (always visible in a corner) or rotating (appears on a timer).
  • Click URL — optional, mainly used in the public gallery rather than the live wall.

Premier-plan accounts can also add a “presented by” splash that appears for 5 seconds every 10 minutes.

Welcome message tab

The welcome message is the headline at the top of the guest upload page — the screen guests see immediately after they scan the QR code.

Defaults vary by template:

  • Wedding: “Welcome! Tag your photos for the happy couple.”
  • Gala: “Share the night. Photos will appear on the wall.”
  • Corporate: “Capture the day. Your photos go on the screen.”

Override it to anything you want. Length cap is 120 characters — anything longer wraps awkwardly on mobile.

You can also enable custom guest fields here: ask uploaders for their table number, the company they’re representing, or any other one-line input. Each field is searchable and exportable. See Custom guest fields for the full pattern.

A note on changing the template mid-event

Switching from one template to another (e.g. Wedding → Festival) resets layout-specific settings like cell counts and transition timing. Your branding (event name, accent color, sponsors) is preserved.

We strongly recommend not changing templates after guests have started uploading. If you do need to switch, pause the wall first (see Pause and resume the wall), make the change, eyeball the result, then resume.
